# Introduction

Token API enables **secure creation and management of blockchain-based digital tokens** using Ethereum's ERC-20 (fungible) and ERC-721 (NFT) standards. This API provides tools to manage token lifecycles while maintaining Blockchain's core advantages of immutability and decentralized verification.

A **digital token** represents either:

* **Fungible token** (ERC-20): Interchangeable value units like currencies, rewards points, or voting rights.
* **Unique token** (ERC-721): Indivisible digital items like artwork, collectibles, or ownership certificates. Also known as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

Key capabilities:

* **Token Deployment**: Create standardized contracts with configurable properties.
* **Token Provenance**: The Blockchain allows to cryptographically track ownership history from minting through transfers.
* **Compliance-Ready Operations**: Built-in burning and transfer transactions.

Tokens serve as **verifiable trust anchors** - each transaction creates an immutable record protected by blockchain cryptography. This enables businesses to:

* Digitize physical assets with NFT certificates.
